Tennis
When you find yourself needing to move, increase your heart rate, and expend some pent-up energy, tennis is the perfect option. This sport requires the use of your legs and arms as well as a good mental capacity and hand-eye coordination. As a perk, tennis players do not need much equipment to play their game. A decent tennis racket and some balls, both available at most department stores and sporting goods' stores, are easily procured, and a tennis court can be found at most local parks.
Tennis incorporates the thrill of running and oxygen pumping through ones lungs with the victorious feeling of smacking a ball with the racket. That amazing sound of the contact between the tennis ball and the racket and the realization that you just sent the ball flying back over the net is extremely rewarding.
Although tennis can be a very serious sport, it can be entirely fun and recreational as well. Younger children can get out on the court and try to hit some balls around while older players may enjoy actual competitions. Following the rules of proper tennis play provides an extra challenge, both physically and mentally.
Some of my best summer memories are running down to the park with my tennis racket and best friend in the heat of the afternoon, and sweating every thought, feeling, and concern out on that tennis court. Later in the evening, when the world had cooled down slightly and the sun was setting, most of the family would head back to the park for several hours of evening fun as we all tried to hit the balls back and forth.
Tennis just one of those sports that players become easily hooked to, and it's something that will fulfil the need for exercise, energy expenditure, and emotional release!
